World Bank Protest; April 24, 2004

Just when it looked like the well was running dry of things to protest, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) held their annual jamboree in their DC headquarters. That means it's time for the protestors to take to the streets and expose the evil deeds of the World Bank and IMF, except that not many of them really know what they do. It turns out that they are agencies of the United Nations which take money from rich countries and funnel it to poor countries. That sounds like something the lefties should love but it just shows you how wrong I am. The World Bank and IMF are bad, very bad, but for reasons that nobody quite understands except for the people leading the march. But then, the reason for a protest march doesn't really need to make sense because it's really a social occassion, a big party for radical kids. They will just protest now and figure it out later.
