A journalist riding in the rear of Kennedy's motorcade heard the shots and jumped out at the first building to file a report, the Texas School Book Depository. He stopped the first guy he saw coming out on the steps and asked him where was the nearest phone. Later, when he saw Oswald's picture he realized that it was Oswald who directed him to the phone.
